Irene Quiñones Quiroga
November 1, 1948 – December 19, 2025
Irene Quiñones Quiroga, was born in Mexico and the oldest of seven siblings, passed away on December 19, 2025, at the age of 77. She lived in Ventura County in Oxnard for 54 years, where she built a life centered on family, care, and love.
She is survived by her children Victor Mercado (wife Diana), Angelica Mercado (spouse Marissa Yanks), Gabriel Mercado (wife Sara Mercado), and Bertha Mercado; her grandchildren Brittany (husband Mason), Jessica (husband Brandon), Désirée (husband Matthew), Kurby, Gabby, Michael (wife Clarissa), and Teresa; and six great-grandchildren, with one on the way.
She is also survived by her siblings Isabel, Margarita, Carmelita, Enrique, Josefina, and Armando.
Irene loved cooking, crocheting, needlepoint, caring for her grandchildren and plants, trying new foods, collecting miniature trinkets, and dancing. She shared a special bond with her beloved dog Lucky, who preceded her in passing, and her cat Leo, who brought her daily companionship.
She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family.
