It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gabriel Colmenero on September 20, 2024. Gabe was born on February 18, 1971 in Oxnard, CA., to Lola and Victor Negron. Born and raised in La Colonia area, where he lived for 53 years.
Survived by his parents Lola and Victor (Vic) Negron; daughters Jazmin Colmenero and Ashley Colmenero; granddaughter Ellie Garcia; sisters Monica Negron and Corina Lehr and loving nephews and cousins. His departure leaves an unfillable void in their lives, yet they find comfort in the memories and everlasting love they shared.
Gabe's love for his family and friends was insatiable. He was the life of the party with his jokes and dance moves. He enjoyed music of all genres. He definitely had an ear for new groups that would make it big or just had that amazing sound. He loved to DJ at parties or even at home.
He was known for being very competitive in any game he played, which he took after his dad Vic, since he was so great at each game and wanted to be just as good. He was always up for a game of cornhole, horseshoes, cards, dominos and basketball.
Gabe enjoyed watching new movies with his mom every Tuesday for the $5 deal. He loved barbequing, especially to watch his favorite teams play, which were the Los Angeles Lakers and San Francisco 49ers. He even had his yearly Fantasy Football that was called Mama's Block League since 2003.
