Esteban Lopez Obituary

Esteban "Steven" Lopez was born on January 10, 1966 in Ventura, CA to Ana Maria Lopez Gonzales and Jesus Lopez Gutierrez. He grew up in Oxnard, CA with his six sisters.

Steven graduated from Channel Islands High School. He was part of the LA Gente Car Club where he was known for his 1977 gold Lincoln Continental lowrider. Steven loved working on cars. If you needed a paint job, oil change or needed to figure out what was wrong with your car, he was the one you called. Steven was the crazy favorite uncle, but you couldn’t call him that. He was too cool to be an uncle, so you had to refer to him as your friend. He spoiled every niece and nephew possible. Steven was known for his crazy driving, McDonald trips for the nieces and nephews, many swap meet visits, and don’t forget a stop at Buddy Burger.

Steven was always there when you needed him. He took care of his parents and helped care for many in the family, including his nephew Jesus "Gordo" Olivas, who he considered his son. He loved his dogs Layla and Rascal. He never left the house without taking Rascal with him. Steven was the jokester of the family, he was always making fun of somebody. He was always giving his sisters a hard time, but when they needed him, he was there.  He was loved by so many.

Steven was preceded in death by his father Jesus Lopez Gutierrez, his sister Mary Christina Lopez Moreno, and sister Carmen Lopez Olivas.

Steven is survived by his mother, Ana Maria Lopez Gonzales of Oxnard, CA, sister Maria Ortiz of Oxnard, CA, sister Lupe Melero (Fernando) of Oxnard, CA, and sister Minerva Paredes (Tomas) of Sherman, TX;  his great-nephew Jesus "Gordo" Olivas of Oxnard, CA; 12 nieces and nephews; Adriana Ortiz, Jesus Olivas, Jr., Griselda Ortiz, Daniel Melero, Raymond Melero, Yvonne Melero, Rafael Ortiz, Desirae Perez all of Oxnard, CA,  Vanessa Gott (David) of Abilene, TX, Tonya Lara (Jose), Gabby Paredes and Isaiah Paredes all of Sherman, TX and many great nieces and nephews.
