Edward Vargas Escoto, 72, of Oxnard, passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2010, with his loving family at his side.
He was born December 21, 1937 in Oxnard to the union of Juan and Jennie Escoto and had been a life long county resident.
Prior to his retirement, he was self-employed as a commercial & residential painter.
Gramps loved life and his Budwieser. He was very proud of his family and happiest being with them, especially Barbecuing at the beach or at the park. His family will forever keep him in their hearts
Edward is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Virginia Escoto; his loving children, John Escoto, Karen Escoto, Eddie Escoto Jr., Linda Torres, Elaine Torres, Lorraine Torres, Jimmy Torres, David Torres, Carlos Torres, Richard Mendez and Alberto Mendez; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., on Monday, Apr. 5, with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM at Camino del Sol Funeral Home, 200 North C St., Oxnard.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, on Tuesday, Apr. 6, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Oxnard, with burial to follow at Santa Clara Cemetery, Oxnard.
