Eric B. Maria

Eric B. Maria, 33 of Oxnard passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2020 from injuries sustained in a train accident.  Eric was born October 26, 1986, in Oxnard, CA and was a lifelong area resident. He worked as an assistant to Brian Ray at Film Direct and was also mentored by our loving cousin Gabriel Ontiveros, who patiently gave him direction and life skills, for which the family will forever be grateful. Eric was a huge fan of the Raiders and Dodgers.  He also had a profound love for music; rap music to be exact. He would  skateboard all over Oxnard, often visiting family and friends, some of whom will remember him by the nickname Mutt because of his uncommon red hair. Eric was loved by so many and will always be in our hearts. 

Eric is survived by his mother; Veronica Torres, his father; Ronald Maria, paternal grandmother; Eva Maria, maternal grandfather; Benny Torres, two brothers; Joseph and Aron Maria, three sisters; Andrea Maria, Alyssa Garcia and Marissa Maria, six nephews; Ronnie Maria Jr., Salvador Maria, Andrew Maria, Isaiah Garcia, Jack and Luke Ramirez, six nieces; Aneesa Valencia, Alanis Maria, Kayla Maria, Isabella Maria, Arissa Maria, Lucy Benson, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. 

He is preceded in death by Peter Maria, paternal grandfather; Mary Torres, maternal grandmother; Ronnie Maria, brother; Jacob and Joshua Mumford, cousins. 

A Visitation is planned for Wednesday, August 12, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Camino del Sol Funeral Home, 200 North C Street, Oxnard, CA 93030.

A Funeral Mass is planned for Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 2511 South C Street, Oxnard, CA 93033

Burial will be at Santa Clara Cemetery at a later date.
